How most people
try to fix this error – and you
are probably doing the same - without any luck…
If you try to uninstall the device and the driver and read
new hardware - no change.
You can try to update the driver and the wizard will say
there is no better driver found for the hardware.
You can try to run the install CD (copied it to a flash
card and ran it from a flash card reader since you can't
run it on the DVD drive) - same problem will occur.
You can't do a repair install of Windows since it is on
CD and it won't boot properly from the drive.
You can try to use an external DVD writer (HP dc5000) through
the USB port and it will get the same code39 error.
Even if you try manually copy the drivers listed in driver
details for the device - no luck.
